The Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov expressed the opinion that Kyrgyzstan should take reciprocal measures in response to the introduction of a visa bond by the United States.

According to him, Kyrgyzstan should reconsider the conditions for visa-free entry for U.S. citizens.

In his post on the social network X, he noted: "We must initiate a discussion about our visa-free regime for Americans in light of the new visa requirements introduced by the State Department. Starting January 21, 2026, citizens of Kyrgyzstan will be required to pay a visa bond ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 when applying for tourist and business visas of category B1/B2. Visa policy is a matter of mutual respect. If such serious restrictions are imposed on our citizens, we cannot simply ignore it," he added.

We remind you that from the specified date, citizens of several countries, including Kyrgyzstan, will be required to provide a financial bond when applying for visas.
