Moldova's refusal of the visa-free regime with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, according to Dmitry Sorokin, who heads the Russian-Moldovan Center for Friendship and Cooperation, may have a negative impact on the country. As the expert emphasized, this decision is part of Moldova's attempt to adapt to the standards of the European Union.

It is worth noting that Moldova suspended the visa-free regime with the two countries after the cancellation of the agreement on the free movement of CIS citizens, signed on October 9, 1992, in Bishkek. This step is part of a broader strategy to withdraw from a number of multilateral agreements made within the framework of the Commonwealth.

Sorokin noted that from an analytical perspective, this decision can be seen as part of a wider policy of Moldova aimed at aligning with European norms. However, in his opinion, such an approach may have economic consequences, including a reduction in tourist flow and business ties, which in turn will negatively affect the country's budget and service sector.

Moreover, he added that such measures could provoke retaliatory actions from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which would only complicate the situation and lead to additional economic losses for Moldova.
