According to him, while earlier the main focus was on teaching basic skills, today the emphasis is shifting towards developing a personality capable of adapting to rapidly changing life conditions. A 21st-century teacher must not only share knowledge but also foster critical thinking in children, the ability to make informed choices, and take responsibility for their actions.
Baisalov emphasized that the success of the educational process is impossible without a professional teacher. "No educational materials or digital platforms can ensure results without the involvement of an educator. Therefore, their professional qualities, civic stance, and internal culture are of paramount importance," he added.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the key qualities that a modern teacher should possess.
He noted that it is essential to see the teacher not just as a specialist but as a person who actively engages in self-education and professional development, understanding their role as a mission. A modern educator is not just a transmitter of information but a mentor and friend who guides students, helping them develop their inner qualities and self-confidence.
Furthermore, Baisalov pointed out the importance of changing the management culture in educational institutions, calling for a rejection of the cult of directors and authoritarian models, where everything depends on one person.
"A strong school cannot be built on authoritarianism. It must be a team of like-minded individuals united by a common goal. The director of a new school in Kyrgyzstan is a leader who creates conditions for the growth of both the school and its staff, not someone who replaces the educational process," concluded Edil Baisalov.
