The decree on visa-free entry will be in effect until September 14, 2026. Citizens of China will be able to stay in Russia without a visa for up to 30 days for various purposes, including guest and business trips, tourism, participation in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic, and sports events, as well as transit through the country and exit from it.
However, it is worth noting that the new rules do not apply to Chinese citizens who come to Russia for work, including journalism, for education, or for permanent residence.
Starting from September 15, 2025, China has also granted Russians the opportunity for visa-free entry for one year. In this case, Russians can stay in China without a visa for up to 30 days, provided they have a foreign passport for entry.
