In his statement, Tashiev noted that there are both justified and erroneous concerns in society regarding the increasing number of Chinese citizens in Kyrgyzstan.

He confirmed that there is indeed an increase in the number of arrivals from China. This is related to the activation of several projects that open new opportunities for investment and development. For example, one of these projects is the China-Kyrgyzstan railway. It is expected that upon successful completion of this project, the country will receive up to $5 million annually from transit. This will allow Kyrgyzstan to become an important transport artery connecting the Caspian Sea and China. Tashiev also pointed out that local construction companies are not always able to meet the demands for building high-rise buildings, which pushes the country to cooperate with foreign investors.

The head of the GKNB emphasized that every Chinese citizen arriving in the republic receives a visa.

“A work visa is issued for a period of two months to one year, while a tourist visa is only for 14 days. The responsible authorities monitor compliance with these deadlines, and in case of violations, deportation is possible. All Chinese citizens are registered and under observation. For example, in a recent conflict on the bypass road, 14 Chinese citizens were detained for hooliganism, and all of them had the appropriate visas,” he added.

Tashiev also noted that some forces are spreading false information, creating panic among the population.

He assured: “There is no need to worry! No one will be able to overwhelm us; we will not allow this. We also love Kyrgyzstan and its people! These people will do their work, build what is necessary, and leave. We, as government bodies, give such a guarantee!” Tashiev stated.
