Lottery winners of DV-2027 will be able to apply for immigration visas during the usual timeframe — from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.
Thus, the changes regarding the organization will not affect the operation of the program itself.
Starting September 16 of this year, a registration fee of $1 will be introduced for participation in the lottery, as outlined in the document on the revision of consular fees.
The Diversity Visa program provides about 50,000 visas each year for citizens of countries with low immigration rates to the U.S. Results are checked through the Entry Status Check (ESC) system.
According to data from DV-2025, the highest number of winners came from Uzbekistan — 5,500. The next highest were Kyrgyzstan with 3,000, Tajikistan with 2,900, and Kazakhstan with 2,000 participants.
