Starting January 21, 2026, citizens of Kyrgyzstan will be required to pay a refundable deposit ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 when applying for non-immigrant B-1/B-2 visas. This information was published in a document available on the U.S. Department of State's website.
It is important to note that the deposit will only be accepted through the U.S. Department of the Treasury's system, and the link for payment will be provided by the consular officer after the interview is completed.
At the same time, it should be remembered that paying the deposit does not guarantee the issuance of a visa.
Additionally, citizens who receive a visa with a deposit will be required to enter and exit the U.S. exclusively through three designated airports: Logan in Boston, John F. Kennedy in New York, and Dulles in Washington, D.C.
We remind you that this visa deposit program was launched in pilot mode by the U.S. Department of State in August 2025 and initially applied to citizens of Malawi and Zambia. From January 1, 2026, similar requirements will also apply to citizens of Turkmenistan, and from January 21, 2026, to citizens of Tajikistan. This decision was made due to frequent violations of the duration of stay under B-1/B-2 visas.
