Entry may be denied in the absence of insurance
Starting from January 1, 2026, every foreigner planning to visit Georgia will be required to provide a valid health insurance policy. This policy must cover the entire duration of their stay in the country and have a minimum coverage amount of 300,000 Georgian Lari, which is approximately 11,100 US dollars as of today.
It is important that the insurance policy is issued either in Georgian or in English, and its validity must not exceed one year.
Some categories of individuals, such as holders of diplomatic and service passports, as well as representatives of accredited international organizations in Georgia, are exempt from this requirement and may enter without health insurance.
