

On January 13, a meeting took place in Riyadh where the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Saudi Arabia, Ulukbek Maripov, met with the Deputy Minister of Energy, Mohammed Abdulrahman Ibrahim.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the participants discussed opportunities for joint work in the energy sector, including the implementation of projects for the construction of renewable energy sources — solar and wind power plants, as well as small and large hydropower plants located in Kyrgyzstan.
Maripov emphasized Kyrgyzstan's interest in activating cooperation with the Ministry of Energy of Saudi Arabia, including issues related to potential purchases of petroleum products. He also presented a number of investment projects in the energy sector and proposed discussing the possibility of cooperation in the exchange of "green" projects for carbon credits.
Mohammed Ibrahim, in turn, agreed on the necessity of strengthening ties in the fields of energy and trade, expressing readiness to provide support on all mutually interesting issues.
At the end of the meeting, Ulukbek Maripov delivered a message from the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Talaybek Ibraev, addressed to the Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, inviting him to visit Kyrgyzstan at his convenience.
