Kyrgyzstan will attract labor from Pakistan for energy projects

Kyrgyzstan plans to supply electricity to Pakistan in the summer and receive it in the opposite direction in winter as part of the CASA-1000 project.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, during the state visit of President Sadyr Japarov to Pakistan, a meeting took place between Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev and his Pakistani counterpart Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari. During the negotiations, the possibilities for cooperation in several key areas were discussed:
- Knowledge exchange in the construction and operation of hydropower plants with an emphasis on modern technologies;
- Deepening cooperation within the CASA-1000 framework to enhance the energy resilience of the region;
- Mutual electricity supplies: delivery from Kyrgyzstan in the summer and from Pakistan in the winter;
- Development of renewable energy sources and joint projects in the field of green energy.
