Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey simplify customs procedures

In Istanbul, at the fifth meeting of the Organization for Economic Cooperation (OEC), a memorandum of understanding was signed between Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
According to this information, the purpose of the signed document is to simplify customs procedures, improve data exchange, and implement digital technologies in trade.
The trade representative of Kyrgyzstan in Turkey, Chyngyz Esengul uulu, presented key initiatives from his country regarding the digitalization of trade, expanding electronic information exchange, developing unified customs standards, and updating the OEC agreement to meet modern requirements.
In addition, the meeting participants decided to establish a technical committee that will negotiate the updating of the OEC agreement. These negotiations are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026. A new roadmap aimed at creating a free trade zone within the OEC was also approved.
