The security of transit transportation was discussed by Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan

A meeting took place in the capital of Afghanistan between Almaz Turgunbaev, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan, and Abdul Haidari, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation of Afghanistan.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Transport, the main focus of the meeting was on the development of transport cooperation and the expansion of international cargo transportation. Kyrgyzstan proposed to exchange transit transport permits for 2026 in the amount of 1,000 units, which received support from the Afghan side.

In response, Afghanistan proposed to develop a bilateral transit agreement. Issues related to ensuring the security of cargo transportation and Kyrgyzstan's interests in using transit routes through Afghanistan towards Iran and Pakistan were also discussed.
