The Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Proposed Coal to Turkey. Ankara Will Consider the Issue

At a meeting with Alparslan Bayraktar, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Talaybek Ibraev, the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, proposed to explore the possibility of cooperation in the coal industry.

During the conversation, the parties discussed not only bilateral relations but also the implementation of significant projects in the energy sector.

The focus was on the "Green Energy Corridor Central Asia - Azerbaijan (Caspian)" project, which is planned to be implemented with the participation of the member countries of the Turkic States Organization. The initiative to create a regional center for technologies and green initiatives in Kyrgyzstan was also discussed.

In addition, attention was drawn to large hydropower projects:
The total installed capacity of these projects is 1,305 megawatts, and their annual output reaches 3.317 billion kilowatt-hours.

Ibraev noted that Kyrgyzstan has significant potential in renewable energy sources, including hydropower, solar, wind, and bioenergy. He also emphasized the high quality of coal produced in the country and suggested that Turkey consider opportunities for cooperation in this area.

In response, Alparslan Bayraktar expressed readiness to consider the proposal for solid fuel supplies but noted that favorable logistics and economic feasibility conditions are necessary for this.
