During a working trip to the Naryn region, the Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev got acquainted with the operations of the coal deposits of Kara-Keche and Ak-Ulak, which belong to OJSC "Kyrgyzkomur." This information was provided by the press service of the ministry.

The main purpose of this trip was to verify information about the coal shortage that is actively discussed on social media and to assess the real situation on the ground.

The management of "Kyrgyzkomur" presented a report on the progress of coal extraction and supply. Since the beginning of 2025, 978,584 tons of coal have been extracted at Kara-Keche, intended for the local population and the Bishkek CHPP. A total of 255 units of equipment are involved in the operation. There are 132 fuel depots operating in the country, where coal is sold at prices ranging from 3,290 to 6,800 soms, depending on the region and logistics costs. Two coal sorting machines are operating at the site.

In addition, the minister visited the Ak-Ulak deposit, where 30% of the extracted coal is directed to the CHPP, while the rest is used for the needs of the population and social facilities.
Currently, a sorting machine is being installed, which will allow for the supply of small coal to the heating plants, while larger coal will be supplied to the population.
Following the trip, Talaybek Ibraev instructed to ensure uninterrupted coal supply for the population, organize round-the-clock driver duty, and continue the sale of coal at affordable prices.
