At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu noted that the drafts of the new text and music for the national anthem were reviewed yesterday in the relevant committee, but none of them were deemed worthy.

“We decided to return this issue for further refinement, as our goal is not just to change the anthem, but to create a version that can be performed by people of all ages. All proposed versions of the anthem were written in a marching style, which makes it difficult for most citizens to perform. I am confident that we need to create works in a more free form, like the songs ‘Kyrgyz Jerі’ and ‘Mekенim Meykin’. We should move away from the marches of the Soviet era. The anthem should be such that it can be sung not only at official events but also at celebrations. It is a symbol of our unity and an important element of national identity; it should unite us and evoke a sense of pride in every Kyrgyzstani,” emphasized Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, urging the authors participating in the competition to pay attention to this task.

The Chairman also noted that the competition will continue. He reminded that any citizen can participate, and special prizes from the president await the winners.
