The question of the necessity to equalize salary coefficients was raised by history teachers from the Alaï district of the Osh region. This was reported by Kenjegul Su laymanova, who holds the position of head of the history teachers' section in this district.

According to her, a group of educators sent a request to the Minister of Education, Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, asking to align the coefficients used for the salaries of history teachers with those for primary school teachers and specialists in the natural sciences.

In their appeal, the teachers emphasize the importance of the subject "History" for society. They highlight that primary education lays the foundations of knowledge, while history lessons contribute to the development of national self-awareness and strengthen the civic position of students.

The educators also pointed out the volume of analytical work they perform in preparing and conducting lessons, including working with archival documents and analyzing current geopolitical trends.

The authors of the appeal argue that the current salary system is unfair: higher coefficients are established for a number of subjects, while the work of teachers in the humanities is valued lower. They request that their demands be considered in the development of new regulations to ensure equal pay conditions for history teachers with those of primary school teachers and natural science disciplines.

The Ministry of Education noted that negotiations are currently underway with the Ministry of Finance regarding the equalization of salary coefficients for history and primary school teachers.

Additionally, the department reminded that at the initiative of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, announced at the IV People’s Kurultai, starting from April 1, 2026, the salaries of employees in educational institutions will be increased by 100%.
