In Karakol, a 34-year-old woman died at the local hospital after being brought in with signs of poisoning. Her relatives suspect her ex-husband.

According to law enforcement information, on January 31, 2026, the Karakol City Police Department received a report from an ambulance that a resident of the city, born in 1992, had been hospitalized in serious condition and placed in intensive care. Despite all efforts by the doctors, the woman did not survive.

Information about the incident was registered, and a preliminary investigation was initiated. An investigative team went to the Issyk-Kul Regional Hospital, where it was determined that the deceased was M.O., born in 1992. Preliminary data indicates that she consumed vinegar with a concentration of 80%, which led to severe burns to her internal organs.

During the investigation, her ex-husband K.E., born in 1990, was interviewed. He stated that he had been married to M.O. since 2011, and they had two children. In September 2025, the couple officially divorced but continued to communicate. On the day of the tragedy, he drove her home and handed her the keys to the apartment. Later, she called him but was unable to speak. K.E. claims that he immediately went to her but could not enter through the main entrance and went in through a back door, where he found M.O. in critical condition in the kitchen. After that, he called an ambulance and asked neighbors for help.

According to the police, on February 1, 2026, O.E., born in 1986, approached the local department, stating that the deceased was his sister and requested an evaluation of her ex-husband's actions, whom he considers responsible for what happened.

Based on the results of the investigation, a decision will be made in accordance with current legislation.
