Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Zhanibek Abirov, found himself at the center of public discussion after an interview with a journalist from UTRK, during which he was unable to correctly explain the meaning of several road signs. Fragments of the conversation made it online and quickly spread across social platforms, eliciting an active response from users.
During the survey, the parliamentarian made a number of mistakes: he referred to the sign "Priority of Oncoming Traffic" as "two-way traffic," confused the sign "Main Road" with "Stop," and vaguely formulated the meaning of the sign "No Entry" as "someone has the main road." A similar situation occurred with Deputy Talaybek Masabirov. Despite claiming that he has been driving since 1983, he also struggled with answers, particularly failing to recognize the sign "No Parking."
It is worth noting that Zhanibek Abirov's name has previously been mentioned in the context of resonant events. In March 2023, a video circulated on social media showing the deputy getting into a conflict with a security guard at one of the restaurants, after which he used physical force against him. The incident received a wide public response and was actively discussed in the media space.
Residents of the Lenin District of Bishkek, whose interests he represented in parliament, have repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with Abirov's activities. Previously, citizens had approached media outlets with complaints about the unsatisfactory condition of roads in the residential areas of the district, emphasizing that they do not see any real involvement from the deputy in solving pressing problems.
"Does he even exist or not? We voted for him, but he doesn't even try to defend our rights. Why doesn't he drive through our streets and see the conditions in which people live?" residents of the district expressed their outrage at that time.
