"The National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan" will purchase 268 transformers

In 2026, OJSC "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" plans to acquire 268 transformers to ensure stable electricity supply for the population, as reported by the Ministry of Energy.

As part of the preparations for the autumn-winter season of 2026–2027, work is planned to increase capacity at substations, both high and low voltage, across the country.

At 20 high-voltage substations with voltages of 35 and 110 kV, an increase in the capacity of power transformers by 256 MVA is planned.

Distribution by regions:

• Bishkek — 2 transformers;

• Jalal-Abad region — 5 transformers;

• Issyk-Kul region — 5 transformers;

• Naryn region — 2 transformers;

• Talas region — 2 transformers;

• Chui region — 4 transformers.

To improve the quality of service and the stability of electricity supply in the 10/0.4 kV networks, 248 transformers will be installed and modernized, increasing capacity by 107 MVA.

Distribution of new transformers:

• Bishkek — 46;

• Osh region — 46;

• Talas region — 42;

• Jalal-Abad region PES — 29;

• Issyk-Kul region — 28;

• Naryn region — 27;

• Batken region — 22;

• Chui region — 8.

These measures will allow for the updating of equipment and reduce the load on electrical networks. OJSC "NESC" will continue to modernize the energy system in line with modern requirements, emphasizes the Ministry of Energy.
