According to information provided by the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, 45,396 "smart" meters were installed in the Issyk-Kul region in 2025. Currently, out of 123,026 household subscribers, 94,299, which is 75.8%, are already using the new devices.
As part of the infrastructure upgrade in the region, 90 kilometers of old aluminum wires with a voltage of 10/0.4 kV were replaced with modern self-supporting insulated wires (SIP), which are safer and more reliable. Additionally, 1,300 outdated wooden poles were replaced with reinforced concrete ones.
The installation of 18 new transformer substations with a voltage of 10/0.4 kV has ensured stable electricity supply for many villages and settlements in the region. The capacity of 23 power transformers has been increased.
To improve the quality and stability of electricity supply in the region, 7 modern reclosers have also been installed.
The construction of the 35/10 kV substation "Үч чоку" in the Jyrgalan Valley has been completed, during which 12.8 km of new cable lines were laid and 4 substations of 10 kV were installed.
The total capacity of the high-voltage substations in the region has increased to 56.5 MVA, significantly enhancing the reliability of the electrical networks. In particular, transformers were replaced at several substations:
- at the "Przhevalsk" substation, the transformer capacity was increased from 25 MVA to 40 MVA;
- at the "Vostochniy" substation — from 16 MVA to 25 MVA;
- at the "Pokrovka" substation — from 10 MVA to 16 MVA;
- at the "Zheti-Oguz" substation, transformers were replaced from 10 MVA to 16 MVA.
Similar work was also carried out at the "Yuzhnaya-1", "Saryuu", "Barskoon", "Keng-Suu", and "Ulahol" substations.
