In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, work on the reconstruction and construction of new cable networks is actively ongoing. According to the Ministry of Energy, over 10 kilometers of modern cable lines have already been laid, particularly in the Dordoi market area, where the highest load on the power grid is observed.
The replacement of 10 kV lines is being carried out as part of the project "Modernization and Sustainable Development of the Power Sector." Currently, new cables are being laid from the "Karagachevaya" substation to transformer substation No. 1339. This will allow:
- to reduce technical losses;
- to increase the capacity of the networks;
- to meet modern energy efficiency standards with an operating voltage of 10 kV.
The importance of laying new cables in the Dordoi market area is due to the presence of large trading and warehouse spaces that require reliable power supply. The modernization of the infrastructure will significantly enhance the stability of power supply for both businesses and the population in this area.
Modern cables with cross-linked polyethylene insulation, which are characterized by high reliability and durability, are used for reconstruction. As part of the project, cables with a cross-section of 3×185 mm² and 3×240 mm² are being laid, which will significantly improve the quality and stability of power supply.
The project is financed by the International Development Association (IDA) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). Over three years, the reconstruction of 80 kilometers of 6/10 kV cable lines in Bishkek is planned.
