Turkey and 13 other countries condemned the statement of the US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee

A joint statement made on February 22 emphasizes that Huckabee's words represent a clear violation of international norms and the UN Charter, causing serious harm to the security and stability of the region. It highlights that the ambassador's remarks contradict the vision of US President Donald Trump and his plan to end Israel's attacks on Gaza.

The document also notes that this vision should be based on preventing the escalation of the conflict and creating a political space for a settlement that ensures the Palestinian people the right to establish an independent state.

The ministers emphasize that the plan is based on the principles of peaceful coexistence and tolerance. Statements justifying control over foreign territories incite tension and hinder the achievement of peace, the statement says.

The document also notes that Israel does not have sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian and Arab territories. "We reiterate our firm rejection of any attempts to annex the West Bank and separate the Gaza Strip, protest against the expansion of settlements in the occupied territories, and reject any threats to the sovereignty of Arab states," the joint statement emphasizes.

The text stresses that Israel's continuation of its expansionist policies and illegal actions will lead to increased violence and conflicts in the region, undermining any chances for peace. It also emphasizes the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination within the borders of 1967 and calls for an immediate cessation of provocative actions and statements that undermine the concept of two states.

Earlier, Mike Huckabee stated in an interview with Tucker Carlson that Israel has a "biblical right" to the lands "from the Nile to the Euphrates," adding that it would be "wonderful" if these territories were fully under Israeli control.

Additionally, he noted that from a theological perspective, these lands "belong" to Israel and that full establishment of Israeli sovereignty is not expected in the near future, although "theologically and historically" these are lands promised by God.
