Recently, a video capturing the moment of these lambs' birth via surgery became popular online. The farmer shared the lineage of his animals: “The mother of these twins is a descendant of the famous ram Sanderst, and the father is the ram Atilla, whose lineage includes such renowned rams as Titanic and Vikond.”
Nurlan, who has a veterinary and economic education, faced a problem when his pregnant ewe could not stand on her feet for 15 days. He turned to friends from the "Manas" University, and they transported the ewe to the clinic. “After the examination, the ultrasound did not provide a clear picture, so it was decided to perform surgery. I filmed everything to showcase the level of our veterinary care and the quality of student training. This video quickly went viral,” he says.
The results of the surgery are astonishing: standard lambs usually weigh 4-5 kg, but Arachan lambs are much heavier. One of Atilla's lambs in Nurlan's farm became a record holder, weighing 11.6 kg. The twins that were born after the surgery weigh 7.1 kg and 6 kg. The clinic's students suggested the names Saule and Zeynep, but the farmer intends to change their names later.
Nurlan once kept a flock of 1,500 ordinary breed sheep, but realizing that quality is more important than quantity, he changed his approach. “I grew up in a village and have been accustomed to physical labor since childhood. But when I started working in the city, managing a large flock became difficult, and I sold off the ordinary sheep. In April 2025, I built a modern barn and in September brought in the first Arachan sheep. My classmate, the famous breeder Aibek Saparbekov, helped me by selecting the best individuals from his herd. This gave me the opportunity to start with purebred animals, and soon I began to derive not only pleasure from this but also profit,” the farmer concludes.
