According to official data, three criminal cases against three defendants were considered during this period.
In the first case, the court issued a guilty verdict with a sentence of imprisonment. In the second case, the defendant was fined, while the third case was closed due to the defendant's death.
Two cases pertained to part 1 of article 283 (Illegal manufacture of narcotic substances without the purpose of sale) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, while the third case was classified under two articles: part 2 of article 283 and part 2 of article 288 (Sowing and growing plants containing narcotic substances) of the Criminal Code.
The prosecutor's office paid special attention to the case of A.O., a resident of the Chui District, who was detained in the fall of 2024 for illegal cultivation and storage of drugs.
During a search conducted on September 25, 2024, at his home, law enforcement officers discovered:
- in the shed, 0.060 kg of crushed plant material.
- in the living quarters — packaging from "Belomorkanals," remnants of hand-rolled cigarettes, and materials for their production.
- in the attic and on the property — drying hemp with a total weight of 10,388.2 grams.
- in the garden, there were 70 cultivated hemp bushes weighing 54.6 kg, reaching heights of up to 4.42 meters and showing signs of special care.
The indictment in the case was approved on December 2, 2024, and sent to court. However, during the proceedings, A.O. was hospitalized in intensive care, which led to a temporary suspension of the proceedings. After his death, the case was resumed and closed in accordance with paragraph 7 of part 1 of article 27 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
An inspection showed that all decisions made by the Chui District Court in these cases were legal and justified, as reported by the prosecutor's office.
