In the course of 2025, according to the General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, law enforcement agencies of the Sverdlovsk district of Bishkek initiated 32 criminal cases related to drug offenses. This accounts for 0.75% of the total number of registered crimes.
This figure indicates a decrease compared to last year, when it reached 2.78%. Of the total number of cases initiated under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic "Illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogs for the purpose of sale," 22 criminal cases have been initiated, 15 of which have already been sent to court involving 17 defendants, while 7 cases are still under investigation.
Additionally, 10 criminal cases have been initiated under Article 283 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, related to "Illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogs without the purpose of sale." Of this category, 5 cases have been sent to court, and 5 are under investigation.
It should be noted that there is a growing trend of drug offenses committed by youth, who use internet platforms to distribute drugs through so-called "stash spots."
The Prosecutor's Office of the Sverdlovsk district is actively working to prevent such crimes, conducting meetings and round tables with youth in collaboration with local authorities and law enforcement agencies.
It is important to remember that strict penalties are provided for drug distribution, including imprisonment and confiscation of property.
