
They received monetary rewards for their actions
Six doctors from the Republican Center for Psychiatry and Narcology in Bishkek were detained on charges of corruption, as reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
Investigative authorities found that schemes were in place at the institution that allowed defendants in serious and especially serious crimes to obtain a status of insanity for a monetary reward, enabling them to evade criminal responsibility.
According to the criminal case, in mid-2025, these six expert doctors conducted two forensic psychiatric examinations regarding a citizen, M.A., who was accused under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic ("Illegal manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogs for the purpose of sale"). For their services, they received 1.5 million soms from her relatives and twice declared her "insane" in order to avoid criminal prosecution.
Recently, all six expert doctors from the RCPN: A.Dj. (born 1950), Sh.N. (born 1966), Ch.Yu. (born 1969), K.Zh. (born 1971), S.L. (born 1972), and Z.M. (born 1997), who conducted the aforementioned examinations, were detained and placed in the GKNB pre-trial detention center.
