In the first two months of this year, 211 cases were entered into the electronic registry of domestic violence, with protective orders issued for 206 of them.

This was reported by Marlis Asanov, head of the Internal Affairs Department of the Jalal-Abad region, at the coordination council meeting held on March 12.

According to the provided data, 193 of the registered cases of violence were committed by men, while 13 were committed by women.

"183 women, 14 men, and 9 adolescents became victims of domestic violence. An analysis of the causes of violence shows that 93 cases are related to social status, 70 to alcohol intoxication, and 37 to jealousy," he noted.

119 protocols were drawn up regarding the facts of domestic violence in accordance with the KR Code on Offenses. As a result of investigations, 28 people were arrested, 55 were subjected to community service, and 3 received fines. Currently, 32 protocols are at the stage of judicial review. In addition, criminal cases were initiated for 15 instances of violence, of which 5 cases were sent to court.

Statistical data on domestic violence for the year 2025 was also presented at the meeting, indicating that 847 cases were registered over 12 months, with protective orders issued for 777 of them.

"A comparison with 2024 shows an increase in the number of violence cases. This indicates that more people are beginning to speak openly about violence and defend their rights. Our staff is actively working on measures to prevent violence," added M. Asanov.

During the coordination council, it was emphasized that instances of violence continue to be recorded, and measures need to be taken to strengthen work in this area.

"We cannot allow violence. In some cases, even when a protective order is issued, the rights of the victims remain unprotected. Joint actions by the police and social workers are extremely important. People who have become victims of violence must feel trust and seek help," he said.

The prosecutor of the Jalal-Abad region, Turusbek Ishenaliev, noted that the fight against violence must be comprehensive and involve the interaction of 14 government agencies.

"It is necessary to involve all agencies in this work. The case in Bishkek where a husband shot his wife shows the seriousness of the problem. A woman named Asel Nogoybaeva became disabled after brutal beating. We also encounter similar cases. 848 registered cases of violence in a year is a troubling signal. Violence is recorded almost daily. Prevention is not only the task of individual agencies but our collective responsibility," he noted.

The meeting also emphasized that measures to prevent instances of violence need to be improved.
