Serial car thieves arrested in Bishkek: over 10 episodes

A complaint was received at the Internal Affairs Department of the Pervomaisky District of Bishkek from a citizen with the initials M.T.

He reported that on March 14, 2026, at around 1:00 PM, near a store in the residential area of "Kölmö," while he was inside the commercial point, unknown individuals secretly entered his unlocked car, a "Honda Accord," and stole his mobile phone, a "Samsung A17," and 200,000 soms. After that, the criminals fled in a "Hyundai Sonata."

An investigation into this incident has been initiated under Article 205 (theft) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the operational search activities, officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bishkek City Police detained the suspects, among whom were previously convicted individuals B.K., born in 2000, N.R., born in 1996, and E.A., born in 1991, who are registered as pickpockets. The detainees were taken to the investigative authorities of the Pervomaisky District Internal Affairs Department and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police.

A citizen identified as N.S. was also established, who worked in one of the shopping centers and was involved in buying stolen mobile phones. He had 9 mobile devices of various models seized, which, according to preliminary data, were obtained through criminal means.

It was found that the suspects moved around Bishkek in a rented car, selecting their victims. They committed thefts from unlocked vehicles.

At present, a connection between the detainees and more than 10 similar crimes has been established. Investigative actions are ongoing.

Dear residents and guests of the capital! Be vigilant: do not leave your cars unlocked and avoid leaving valuable items unattended. If you witness any illegal actions, immediately contact the internal affairs authorities at number 102.
