In the "Couples" section, we will tell you about Salamat Mukashev and his wife Gul'dana Asan kyzy, who live in the Chui region.

Salamat, who is 40 years old, shared with a Turmush correspondent that he met Gul'dana in the kitchen of the "Hawaii" recreation area. Both of them work as cooks and take orders for preparing food for weddings, celebrations, and other events in their village, Onbir-Zhylga.

For the Nowruz holiday, the couple went to the village of Burana to prepare pilaf in a large cauldron for a special order for the celebration.

"Since childhood, I have been interested in cooking. In the seventh grade, I learned to bake bread. I have three children in my family: I am the eldest, and I have a sister and a younger brother. When my sister finished school, I became the oldest in the house and started cooking, as my parents would leave for funerals and return only after a few days. Cooking was necessary, and that’s when my interest in culinary arts grew," he shared.

Salamat also gained knowledge of Japanese and Chinese cuisine in Russia, and later completed his training at Professional Lyceum No. 24 in Kyrgyzstan. With 20 years of experience working in various cafes, restaurants, and recreation areas, he has become a true expert in his field. Together with his wife, they take orders for festive events, prepare treats, and support their family while raising three children.

Salamat began his culinary journey in 2011 when he met Gul'dana at "Hawaii." "She was just starting to learn the cooking profession, and there was a mutual attraction between us. We got married on May 7, 2012, and have been living together ever since, creating a strong family where our three daughters and son are growing up. The children also help us with work, which has become a family business," he said.

They enjoy hosting guests and setting festive tables. "When we are invited to cook for celebrations, I always calculate the amount of food based on the number of guests. It’s better to prepare more than to run out. If there are leftovers, I can come up with something new on the spot to please the hosts of the celebration," Salamat added.
