WhatsApp has announced a significant update, adding six new features for users of the messenger. Official information was published on the company's blog, and TechCrunch detailed one of the main innovations related to artificial intelligence.
The most noticeable change is the updated Writing Help tool. Now it not only corrects mistakes and changes the style of messages but also offers ready-made responses based on the current conversation. WhatsApp representatives emphasize that using this feature does not violate chat privacy.
What's new in WhatsApp
Firstly, the messenger has added the ability to edit photos using Meta AI. Before sending an image, users can remove unwanted objects, change the background, or alter the style. However, the company clarified that the new AI features may not be available to all users simultaneously.
Secondly, a tool for managing storage has been developed. Users can now find and delete large files within a specific chat without affecting the entire conversation. The service also allows for the deletion of only media files while keeping text messages intact.
The third innovation is the ability to transfer chats across platforms. Chat history can now be moved not only within the same operating system but also between iPhone and Android.
The fourth feature allows the use of two accounts on iOS devices. This option was previously available on Android and has now appeared on iPhone as well. To avoid confusion, the app will display the profile picture of the active account at the bottom of the screen.
The fifth update concerns stickers: WhatsApp now suggests suitable stickers when entering emojis, allowing users to replace an emoji with a single tap.
Availability
All six new features have already begun to be rolled out. According to WhatsApp, the update will soon be available to all users.
