On January 26, during a meeting of the International Affairs Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Zhyldyz Kurmanalieva raised an important issue regarding the construction of specialized schools and kindergartens for children with autism and Down syndrome as part of various projects.

According to her, the number of children with these diagnoses who cannot attend regular educational institutions is rapidly increasing.

The deputy suggested that, at the first stage, such specialized institutions be established in regional centers, as they are virtually non-existent, and private establishments are not always accessible to all families.

Kurmanalieva added that she is ready to provide her recommendations in writing if necessary, emphasizing that the issue indeed affects many parents.

She also highlighted that addressing this issue requires collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, as qualified specialists are needed to work with such children.
