In Uzbekistan, a large-scale three-month initiative has been launched aimed at reducing wastefulness and excessive pomp at weddings and other family events.
According to Podrobno.uz, the initiator of this campaign is the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment.
Kahramon Kuronbaev, chairman of the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan, noted that the main goal of the program is to develop a culture of modesty and humility, as well as to foster the habit of holding weddings and celebrations without unnecessary expenses.
Over the course of 90 days, projects will be implemented that promote values such as moderation, abstaining from wastefulness, gratitude, and tolerance. The campaign includes workshops, open discussions, the launch of media materials, including videos and broadcasts, and the organization of a national training seminar.
In Uzbekistan, the conduct of weddings, family celebrations, memorial events, and rituals is regulated by the "Rational Consumption" program.
