An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 occurred in Japan's Aomori Prefecture, according to information provided by the country's Meteorological Agency, reports RIA Novosti.
The epicenter of the seismic event was located at a depth of 10 kilometers off the eastern coast of Aomori. According to meteorologists, the maximum intensity of the tremors reached four points on the seven-point scale used in Japan.
It is worth noting that a more powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 had previously been recorded in the same area. A tsunami warning was also issued at that time. The epicenter was located at a depth of 50 kilometers, and the maximum intensity of the tremors reached 6+. According to the Associated Press, 23 people were injured as a result of this earthquake.
