The new center, located at the University of Science and Technology in the capital of Mongolia, will begin its operations on the same day as announced by the ministry. The center was established as part of a program initiated by Seoul to support Mongolia's economic development.
According to the official statement, the center's work will focus on researching rare earth metals, including tungsten, molybdenum, and lithium, as well as training in processing and refining technologies, which will help Mongolia increase the added value of its resources. The ministry also emphasized that this center will serve as a foundation for further bilateral cooperation in the field of critically important mineral resources, which, in turn, will contribute to the long-term stability of supply chains in Korea.
