In its statement, the White House noted that the new budget will allow the Pentagon to effectively implement the "Peace through Strength" strategy, as well as enhance the country's defense and strengthen the military-industrial complex. According to the law, $400 million is allocated for supporting Ukraine in 2026 and 2027. At the same time, the document requires the U.S. Secretary of Defense to inform Congress of any temporary suspensions or cessation of intelligence data provision to Ukraine.
It is worth noting that the previous military budget for the 2025 fiscal year amounted to $884 billion, demonstrating a consistent trend of increasing defense spending.
