In his publication, Trump noted: "Now we have the 'Trump Golden Card' from the US government! This is a direct path to citizenship for all qualified and vetted candidates. It's wonderful!" He also added an image of the card, which features his portrait, the Statue of Liberty, a bald eagle, and the US flag. In addition, the White House published a photo of Trump holding the card.
It should be noted that the program was approved in September after the signing of the relevant decree. Trump stated that the initiative aims to attract "very successful" and "productive" professionals to the country. According to US Secretary of Commerce Howard Latnik, this program could bring more than $100 billion to the federal budget.
On the program's pages, two categories of cards are available to foreigners: Gold and Platinum.
- The Gold Card allows applicants to apply after paying $15,000, which goes towards processing documents at the US Department of Homeland Security.
- The Platinum Card is currently in the waiting stage, but registration is already open. Foreigners can sign up to take a place in line. Once the card is launched, by paying $15,000 for processing and an additional fee of $5 million, holders will be able to stay in the USA for up to 270 days without taxation on income earned outside the country.
