Sanjid, also known as Otgonbayar, is a character with a unique immunity to a virus of extraterrestrial origin.
Pluribus (translated into Russian as "One of Many"), stylized as PLUR1BUS, is an American television series created by Vince Gilligan, in the genre of science fiction drama. The plot unfolds in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The main character, writer Carol Sturka, is the only person in the city (and one of thirteen people on Earth) with immunity to an alien virus that has united the rest of humanity into a positively inclined collective mind.
The series was ordered for two seasons, with the premiere of the first season, which includes nine episodes, taking place on the streaming platform Apple TV on November 7, 2025. The title "Pluribus" refers to the Latin phrase e pluribus unum, meaning "out of many, one."
Critics have praised the series, noting Gilligan's masterful writing and Sihoorn's outstanding performance.
In the Apple TV+ series Pluribus, created by Vince Gilligan, the lead role is played by Mongolian actor Amarburën Sanjid, portraying the character Otgonbayar. Interestingly, his daughter, Khaliun Amarburën, also participates in the project, representing Mongolia on screen. IMDb and Amazon.com mention their acting family, adding extra credibility to their roles.
According to Vince Gilligan, the choice of the title for the series took more than two years, during which about a hundred options were considered. Ultimately, the team settled on the Latin phrase E pluribus unum, which translates to "Out of many, one" and is the unofficial motto of the United States. This title reflects both the democratic values of the U.S. and the struggle of the main character, who stands "alone" against "many" infected by the virus.
Amarburën Sanjid (Amaraa Sanjid) plays the role of Otgonbayar, a Mongolian with immunity, and an opera singer.
Khaliun Amarburën, Amaraa's daughter, also participates in the show, proudly representing Mongolia. She grew up in Arlington, Virginia, where she performed at the Signature Theatre. Receiving a scholarship from the Posse Scholar program, she studied at Pepperdine University in Malibu, majoring in international studies and minoring in film studies. Khaliun is fluent in English and Mongolian and can communicate in Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish.
The Sanjid family has deep roots in opera and acting; Amaraa is the son of the famous Mongolian prima donna Zagdsurën Ayush.
