History based on events after Urkun


Starting December 27, a new series will be available on one of the state television channels and in the online cinema "Etnomedia," as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

“The plot covers one of the most difficult eras in the history of Kyrgyzstan — the years 1917–1924, telling the story of the Kyrgyz people's fate after Urkun, the struggle for national independence, and the political upheavals of that time. The story revolves around 16-year-old Jusup Abdrakhmanov and includes real historical figures such as Abdykadir Orozbekov, Ishe naly Arabaev, Imanaly Aydarbekov, and Abdykerim Sydykov,” the press release states.

At the center of the plot is the collapse of the Turkestan autonomy, tragic events in Kokand, internal conflicts, and the repressions of Soviet power. The main themes of the series are national unity, justice, and the quest for freedom.

The project was created by the production studio "ARNA" with the support of the state institution "Kyrgyzserial." The first season consists of four episodes. The director is Suyun Otkeev, and the executive producer is Zhenishgul Ozbekova.

The series "Kara-Kyrgyz" aims to remind the audience of key moments in history and fateful events that influenced the formation of Kyrgyz statehood.
