In their statement, the participants of the meeting noted that the recognition of Somaliland could create a dangerous precedent that threatens international peace and security. The foreign ministers of Turkey, Egypt, and Djibouti reaffirmed their support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia. In turn, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry criticized Israel's actions, describing them as unilateral and inconsistent with international law.

The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, characterized Israel's move as a violation of the UN Charter, emphasizing that such actions could lead to destabilization in the region and undermine efforts for peaceful conflict resolution. The Somali government also warned of possible diplomatic and political consequences, reserving the right to defend its sovereignty.

Somaliland, which has effectively functioned as an independent entity since 1991, is still regarded by the international community as part of Somalia. In January 2024, Somaliland and Ethiopia signed a memorandum of understanding that includes the establishment of an Ethiopian military base in the territory of this partially recognized region.
