Military actions between Thailand and Cambodia continue, as both countries claim that it is the opponent who has resumed hostilities. The Air Force reports a complicated situation in which the fragile ceasefire, achieved with the participation of U.S. President Donald Trump in October, finds itself.

Hun Sen, the former Prime Minister of Cambodia and still a key figure in the country, noted that his government has given 24 hours for evacuation before making a decision on a counterattack.

“We strive for peace, but we must defend our territory from invasion,” he stated on social media, adding that Cambodian troops are reinforced with powerful bunkers and modern weaponry.

According to information provided by the Thai military, clashes are occurring in five provinces along the border. The U.S. Navy's operation to displace Cambodian soldiers from Trat Province is expected to conclude soon. The number of injured Thai servicemen has risen to 29, as reported by the spokesperson for the Kingdom's defense forces.

President Trump expressed his willingness to once again engage in resolving the conflict between the two nations, which he previously helped to halt.

The border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia escalated in July 2025. In October of the same year, a peace agreement was signed with Trump's mediation, which he characterized as "historic".

This border conflict between the two kingdoms has deep roots and is linked to long-standing disputes over territories around the Preah Vihear temple complex, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 7, 2008.
