According to the Thai news portal Khaosod, new clashes were recorded on December 8 along the border between Thailand and Cambodia.

It was previously reported that Cambodian troops attacked the "Anupong" base, resulting in the death of one Thai soldier and injuries to two others. In response, the Royal Thai Air Force scrambled F-16 fighters to conduct retaliatory actions.

On the morning of the same day, Cambodian forces shelled civilian areas in Buriram province, leading to new clashes. "The army reported combat operations in several regions along the border, one soldier killed, four wounded," Khaosod informs.

The Second Army Area of the Royal Thai Army published information about the ongoing evacuation of residents from border areas. According to official data, the evacuation affected about 70% of the population.

"At 6 a.m., Cambodian forces opened fire on our positions in the Chong An Ma area... 35,623 people have already registered in temporary shelters. Some people have taken refuge with relatives, while others continue to relocate," the statement said.

Accusations are also coming from the Cambodian side. Senate Chairman Hun Sen, who previously held the position of president, stated that Thailand is using "all types of weapons" in the current conflict.

He emphasized that "all forces on the front line must remain patient, as the invaders have been shelling us with various weapons since yesterday," writing about this on Telegram.

According to him, "the red line has already been defined," and commanders are obliged to convey this to their subordinates.

Tensions between the two countries have persisted since May, when border clashes escalated into intense fighting involving artillery and air power. Active hostilities occurred from July 24 to 29, after which a ceasefire agreement was reached with the mediation of the United States, China, and Malaysia.

At the end of October, at the ASEAN summit in Kuala Lumpur, leaders of both countries signed a declaration aimed at resolving the conflict, but the situation has once again escalated.
