The press center of the Border Troops of the State National Security Committee of Tajikistan reported a new incident related to the attack by Afghan militants on the territory of the republic, as informed by the National Information Agency "Khovar".
According to the information, on November 30, 2025, at 18:45 local time, an armed group of terrorists crossed the border from the Afghan village of Ruzvayak, located in the Badakhshan province. They attacked employees of the Chinese company "China Road and Bridge Corporation" in the village of Shodak, located in the Viskharv jamoat of the Darvaz district.
As a result of this attack, two Chinese citizens were killed, and two others were injured, the press center reports.
Furthermore, the press center noted that on November 26, 2025, a similar attack occurred from the village of Shahri Buzurg in Badakhshan province on the Shamsiddin Shohin district, during which three workers of the company "Shohin-SM" — citizens of China — were killed, and one was injured.
The statement emphasizes that despite Tajikistan's efforts to strengthen security and create conditions for cooperation in border areas, criminal groups continue to operate with the aim of destabilizing the situation at the state border.
The Tajik side expressed deep concern over the incident, condemned such attacks, and urged the Afghan authorities to take effective measures to ensure security at the border and apprehend those responsible.
Tajikistan is also strengthening control at its borders and taking additional measures to protect both its citizens and foreign specialists.
The situation at the state border remains under the control of the relevant authorities, and the investigation into the attacks is ongoing.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, under the Taliban's administration, condemned the killing of three Chinese workers in the Khatlon region of Tajikistan. This was reported by TOLO News, citing statements from Zia Ahmad Takal, head of the public relations department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He noted that the attack was carried out by "elements aiming to create chaos, instability, and distrust between the countries of the region."
The ministry expressed condolences to the people of China and Tajikistan and stated its readiness to cooperate and exchange information with the authorities of both countries to identify those responsible for this incident.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting on December 1 with the heads of the country's law enforcement agencies, firmly condemning the illegal and provocative actions of Afghans at the border and instructing the responsible officials to take necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
