The World Boxing Championship in the United Arab Emirates will start a day later than planned due to visa issues for the Kyrgyzstan team. This was announced by Umar Kremliev, president of the International Boxing Association (IBA).

Initially, the competition was scheduled to begin on December 3 in Dubai, but it is now set to start on December 4.

"Due to the fact that visas for the Kyrgyz boxers were not processed in time, we decided to postpone the start of the tournament by one day. All athletes have now received their visas and are heading here. We also expect the arrival of representatives from two more countries," Kremliev noted during the tournament opening on December 2.

It was previously reported that initially, visas to the UAE were obtained by only two boxers from Kyrgyzstan, then three more athletes joined them, and the entire team was able to leave thanks to the intervention of the president's administration.
