According to Meduza, Emil Kio, the famous illusionist, passed away at the age of 87.
His full name was Emil Emilievich Renard-Kio, and he was the son of the renowned circus performer Emil Teodorovich Renard-Kio. Both father and son performed under the name Emil Kio.
Starting in 1961, Emil Kio began his career as an assistant in his father's act. Later, he created his own illusion show, touring various countries.
Emil Kio is also remembered as the author of the column "On the Other Side of the Trick," published in the magazine "Young Technician" from 1976 to 1992, where he shared the secrets of magic tricks.
From 1991 to 2016, he headed the Union of Circus Workers of Russia.
