The discussion about switching to the use of national currencies between Russia and Turkey may provide a solution to the existing problems with bank transfers. This was reported by a source close to the Turkish government, as conveyed by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the Russian embassy in Turkey noted that the sanctions imposed by the West create difficulties in banking transactions between the two countries. Moscow and Ankara continue to maintain a constant dialogue to find ways out of the current situation. According to a representative of the Turkish authorities, state banks have not yet received instructions from the country's central bank regarding resolving issues with payments to Russia; however, payments under state initiatives continue.
According to the agency's interlocutor, "various approaches are being considered as a solution to the difficulties arising from Western sanctions. The idea of using national currencies in trade has been raised at the highest leadership level, and instructions have been given to analyze this process. Part of the trade is already being conducted in national currencies, but the issue requires further detailed study."
