With the onset of the special military operation, global logistics has undergone significant changes. As a result, Russia is redirecting its foreign trade flows towards eastern directions and strengthening the importance of land routes connecting it with China. This was stated by Nikita Filin, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and African Studies at the Institute of Eurasian and Eastern Studies of RGGU and Doctor of Historical Sciences, at the I International Scientific and Expert Forum named after N.M. Przhevalsky.

According to him, the main part of the cargo flows passes through the Far East and Kazakhstan. However, these routes are overloaded and subject to external risks. In this regard, Kyrgyzstan can play the role of an alternative link, forming a kind of bridge between Western China and the EAEU states.

Filin presented a report on the topic "Kyrgyzstan as a Transport Corridor between Russia and China." He emphasized that his university actively studies the issues of Chinese-Russian cooperation, as well as the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, which is actively implemented by both countries.

The specialist noted that Kyrgyzstan occupies an important position in this concept. The geographical location of the country allows for the creation of a southern route between Russia and China, which passes through the territory of the union state and is directly linked to the Chinese initiative "One Belt, One Road."

“Here, the mutual interests of the two states intersect. Despite the lack of access to the sea, Kyrgyzstan has a unique position: it borders Uzbekistan to the west, Kazakhstan to the north, and Xinjiang to the east, one of the key industrial regions of China,” he added.
