The delegation was headed by Tsend Sandag-Ochir, who serves as the acting chairman of the Mongolia-Bulgaria parliamentary group and leads the Permanent Committee on State Structure. The delegation also included high-ranking officials, including the chairman of the Permanent Committee on Budget Tserenpila Davaasuren, who held the positions of Minister of Energy from 2017 to 2020 and Minister of Construction and Urban Development in 2023-2024; the chairman of the Permanent Committee on Ethics and Parliamentary Procedures Bayarbaatar Bayarmagnai; the Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs Altangerel Oyunsaikhan, who is the leader of the Democratic Party; as well as the chairman of the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions Erdenebat Sukhbaatar, who led the trade unions in the transport and oil extraction sectors from 2007 to 2013.
During the meeting, opportunities for deepening bilateral inter-parliamentary dialogue and exchanging experiences in the work of permanent committees and the legislative process were discussed. Rositsa Kirova spoke about the structure and functioning of the National Assembly.
“Our cooperation is not limited to formal meetings. It is an active process of mutual learning that includes discussions of laws and respect for diverse opinions. Sustainable solutions arise precisely from such exchanges,” Kirova noted.
The negotiations also touched upon the topic of Bulgaria's energy independence, including issues of diversifying energy sources and measures taken by the government to reduce dependence on external supplies.
Additionally, the participants discussed issues related to combating disinformation and the influence of social media, as well as cooperation with professional organizations to ensure public order.
The Mongolian delegation emphasized that parliamentary diplomacy is an important link between the institutions and societies of both countries.
