Currently, labor migrants in the Samara region are prohibited from performing 117 different types of work. Previously, restrictions were imposed on foreign citizens working in taxis, educational institutions, pharmacies, and employment agencies.
Now, this list has significantly expanded, covering a wider range of professions and sectors:
- trade;
- transport;
- public catering;
- manufacturing enterprises;
- courier services;
- educational institutions;
- medical institutions;
- information technology and science.
In particular, migrants are now prohibited from working in professions such as teachers, coaches, educators, as well as engaging in almost all types of trade, programming, and working in factories involved in assembling drones.
The governor's decree also states that local companies are given three months to adjust the "number of foreign employees" to comply with the new requirements outlined in the document.
Similar restrictions for labor migrants working in Russia on the basis of a patent are being introduced in other regions of the country as well. It is expected that the vacancies that become available will be filled by Russian citizens or residents of countries that are part of the Eurasian Economic Union (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia).
