According to the Global Peace Index (GPI) 2025, Mongolia is one of the most peaceful countries in Asia, and this position has been maintained for several years. This is reported by MiddleAsianNews.
According to the index data, Mongolia ranks 5th in Asia and 37th in the world ranking with a score of 1.719. This country is known for its stability, high level of social security, and low number of internal conflicts compared to its neighbors.
The report emphasizes that Mongolia continues to maintain strong positions in security, surpassing many other countries in the region according to the 2025 results.
Singapore took first place, Japan second, Malaysia third, and Bhutan ranked fourth. Mongolia outperforms countries such as Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, East Timor, and Laos.
According to the GPI, while the Asia-Pacific region retains its second position in terms of peacefulness in the world, the overall level of security in this region has slightly decreased. At the same time, positive trends are observed, with Indonesia showing the greatest progress in terms of peacefulness, linked to successes in combating terrorism over the past five years. Meanwhile, Myanmar remains the most troubled country in the region, experiencing a significant deterioration in indicators due to the ongoing civil war.
In the 19th edition of the Global Peace Index (GPI), 163 independent states and territories were assessed for their level of peacefulness, covering nearly 99.7% of the world's population. This index, created by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), is the primary global indicator of the level of peacefulness.
