A man in Kazakhstan was fined for a fake about the new constitution project

The department reports that the man previously published information on social media claiming that the draft of the new Constitution allegedly abolished the "ban on the sale of land to foreign citizens," which is false information.

As a result of the investigation, the Almaty District Administrative Court found citizen A. guilty of disseminating false information and imposed a fine of 20 MRP, which amounts to approximately 86,000 tenge.

Recall that in September of last year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed the idea of parliamentary reform, which initiated changes to the constitutional text. The decree on the establishment of a Constitutional Commission was signed on January 21, and just three days later, its first meeting took place.

On January 31, the draft of the new Constitution was presented in Kazakhstan, which includes the creation of a unicameral parliament (Kurultai), the introduction of the position of vice president (who cannot be a member of a political party), and the establishment of grounds for revoking citizenship in the case of holding a passport from another country.
